Gas Detection - RIGAS

Gas Detection Cabinet

Jelec RIGAS is a high performance PLC-based gas detection control panel that is easy to use and user configurable. The control panel can supervise gas detection via serial RS-485 Modbus RTU or via 4-20mA analog inputs. The controller is based on an open system and can be interfaced with a wide range of gas detectors from many different manufacturers.

This innovative gas detection solution provides a large 9 inch LCD color touch screen user interface. Using the touch screen, each channel can be user configured for sensor type, discrete alarm levels, detector tag name, gas engineering values, and enable and disable functions.

This controller offers eight fully configurable alarm relay outputs that are provided for audible and visual alarm interface to external devices such as strobes, beacons, and PAGA systems.

Also included, are built-in event logs that are organized to display different types of information such as alarms, faults, system activity, and output activations.

Features and Benefits:

  • Serial RS-485 Modbus RTU inputs
  • 4-20mA analog inputs
  • Extra large 9" LCD color touch screen
  • Built in event logging
  • User configurable
  • Easy field expansion
  • Low front end cost
  • Flexible for different manufacturers gas detectors
  • Easy to install and commission
  • Proven and reliable Siemens equipment
  • Remote access

Fire & Gas Detection

Fire and Gas Panel

We are one of the leading integrators and suppliers of safety systems. Our Fire & Gas Detection system is based on is based on the enhanced SIL 2 Autronica fire control panel with a large 22" color touchscreen monitor The integrated gas detection solution is based on either Autronica IFG or Siemens PLC-based system. Our system features advanced self-diagnostic - eliminating time-consuming testing, inspections, and maintenance. The Autrosafe fire detection system also features self-verifying technology, and performs routine tests of the detectors every 24 hours with a calibrated test and sensing element.

Our detectors are protected by a built-in short-circuit isolator which saves on costly repairs and replacements. This system also leverages automatic addressing which simplifies commissioning and installation.

A key feature, is our Cause and Effect Programming Tool which can simplify C&E Logic Design, Fire-Zone and Shutdown- Level definitions, Tag Allocation and Fire Protection Data Sheet documentation.

The Jelec RIGAS system is a rugged fire and ambient gas detection system. The system is easy to setup, configure and use - it is completely field configurable via an extra large 9" color touch screen. Jelec RIGAS is a rugged versatile fire and ambient gas detection control system. Our system is easy to setup, configure and use. Our system supports up to 40 channels of active fire and gas detection via digital inputs and 4-20mA analog inputs.

Fire Suppression

Jelec offers marine / offshore special hazard fire protection, providing both in cabinet, machinery level fire suppression, and protection for buildings, such as electrical power houses, control buildings, and computer rooms.

Jelec features several engineered system product lines to serve markets around the world. We can provide engineered fire suppression systems featuring clean agent FM-200®, 3M™ Novec™, foam, and CO2 systems.

ESD & Response

Emergency Shutdown

Jelec ESD system provides automatic or manual shutdown when major process deviations or hazardous events such as fire and gas leakage etc. occur. Our system provides automatic full or partial module shutdown protection during process events that are hazardous to:

  • Personnel
  • Equipment
  • Environment.

Emergency Shutdown

Our fail-safe and fault tolerant system based on the off-the-shelf Siemens redundant, fault tolerant PLC. In the event of an error, there is a bump less transfer of control, i.e. the intact standby device takes over execution at the point of interruption, with no loss of information. The system is able to process input signals and activate outputs in accordance with the Cause & Effect charts defined for the installation.

Our system includes functions necessary to monitor the selected process and utility parameters and safeguard the complex from abnormal operating situations.

  • Shut down sub-systems and equipment
  • Initiation actions with the information received from the fire or gas incident
  • Isolate electrical equipment
  • Stop hydrocarbon flow
  • Monitor and control depressurization/blowdown
  • Control the ventilation and dampers
  • Close fire and watertight doors
  • Monitoring of process for hazardous operating conditions
  • Initiation of Manual ESD
  • Initiation of audible alarm via the PAGA System
  • Sequence of Events (SOE) reporting via Alarm Printer

Emergency Response

Wireless telephones are great, but are made even better with the addition of our Emergency Response package allowing our wireless handsets to receive critical alarms and allow specific users to respond immediately to potentially hazardous situations. Carry the phone anywhere because it uses the same hazardous area rated handset as our wireless telephone system – totally safe.
